BJ Penn Says ‘Maybe’ When Asked About Coming Out Of Retirement

Former UFC champion BJ Penn was a recent guest on “UFC Tonight,” and gave an interesting answer in regards to a potential return to fighting.

“Maybe,” was what Penn said on if he is likely to make a comeback.

“The Prodigy” announced his retirement last year after falling to Nick Diaz. Since that time, several have reported his return, but Penn has remained on the sidelines.

“I mean, right after my last fight I had no interest in fighting, but I am kind of warming up to the idea,” Penn said. “Everywhere I go people are telling me to get back into the ring and I think it is working a little. No timetable, it isn’t going to be anytime in the next few months, that’s for sure.”

Penn declined to get any specific fight as one that could get him to come out of retirement. He added, “I would like to put together a fight that makes sense for everyone; for the fighters, the fans, and the organization – a big fight.”
