Alexander Gustafsson Says No Broken Hand Suffered, Plans To Return This Summer

Alexander Gustafsson denied reports he suffered a broken hand while appearing on MMAjunkie.com Radio recently. The Swede is targeting a return to action this summer after defeating Thiago Silva back in April.

“I hope I can fight the end of summer or somewhere around there,” Gustafsson said. “I’m just waiting to hear from the UFC.”

Gustafsson is 14-1 in his MMA career, including six wins in seven UFC fights. His lone loss came at the hands of Phil Davis.

Many are pegging Gustafsson as a future contender to the UFC light heavyweight title. The belt, which is currently worn by Jon Jones, will be defended at UFC 151 by “Bones” against Dan Henderson.

“I think Jones will win that fight,” Gustafsson said. “I think it’ll be a decision.”

Gustafson – Shogun should be the logical bout, but let’s not forget that Gustafson sells in Europe and the UFC need him to be a contender, so they wont give him a tough fight, I can only see him against Griffin, Franklin or anybody he can win to
