Carlos Condit has been sitting on the sidelines awaiting the return of Georges St-Pierre so that the two can unify the UFC welterweight championship.
However, after seeing Martin Kampmann knock Jake Ellenberger out, Condit is opening up to the idea of a fight with “The Hitman.”
“If it turns out Georges can’t fight in November, most likely, I will fight somebody else,” said Condit, during a recent interview on Inside MMA. “I really wanna fight Georges. I really wanna unify the belts, but there’s also some other guys that I would like to fight as well. You know, Martin Kampmann’s the only guy that I’ve lost to in the UFC, the only guy I’ve lost to in about the last six years, so I would definitely like to avenge that loss.”
Condit captured the UFC interim title with his win over Nick Diaz earlier this year, while Kampmann has proven his mettle by defeating Ellenberger and Thiago Alves in recent fights.
St-Pierre is continuing to rehab from knee surgery, and has been targeting a late-2012 return to the Octagon.
