Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua Vs. Brandon Vera New UFC On FOX 4 Main Event

An injury to Brian Stann has forced the UFC’s hand in regards to the UFC on FOX 4 event.

Hector Lombard has also been removed, with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Brandon Vera taking the headline bout on August 4 from Los Angeles.

Rua, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, lost his original opponent for UFC 149 in Thiago Silva when Silva was injured and forced to pull out.

Vera, meanwhile, was removed from a planned fight with James Te Huna at UFC on FUEL: Munoz vs. Weidman.

The UFC did not confirm what will happen in regards to Lombard.

The UFC also set Josh Grispi vs. Rani Yahya for the event. Yahya replaces Pablo Garza in the fight.

That’s a surprise,I don’t know how shoguns camp has been going but if he’s healthy he’s gonna murder Vera

      Agreed.

Is the 205 division that weak right now? The only reason Vera is still in the UFC is because Silva tested positive for steroids. I think this will be a good fight, but these guys are on opposite sides of the 205lb rankings.

Vera had some bright spots earlier in his career, but he got cocky and took some losses. I don’t think he has recovered from those losses….
