Once wrong toss caused Brian Stann to pull out of a planned main event fight with Hector Lombard at UFC on FOX 4. And, in the end, it forced Lombard to shift to a new card, as he has been signed to meet Tim Boetsch at UFC 149.
While appearing on FUEL TV recently, Stann explained what happened to force his exit. The military veteran was looking to build off a recent win over Alessio Sakara.
Shawn (Jordan) and I were in the cage and he went for a hip throw and he landed on my shoulder; all 275 pounds of him. I think he slipped. It happened. You know you could hear the crack right away.
Stann confirmed that he suffered a grade-two separation of the right AC joint and will be on the sidelines for at least two months. He has mentioned Vitor Belfort or Michael Bisping as potential fights in his return, as both men are also working back from injuries – Belfort broke his hand, Bisping suffered a torn knee ligament.
