Wanderlei Silva To Chael Sonnen: ‘He Fights With His Mouth’

Wanderlei Silva is focusing on Rich Franklin in less than two weeks at UFC 147 in his native country of Brazil. However, that hasn’t kept “The Axe Murderer” from talking about his long-time enemy, Chael Sonnen.

While appearing on The Fight Show with Mauro Ranallo recently, Silva gave us his take on Sonnen, who will meet Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title in July at UFC 148.

He fights with his mouth. He’s not a top guy. He creates that style and looks for you guys to give attention to him. But, face-to-face, he’s like a kid; he’ll cry like a baby, man. You talked some bad things. I’m old school. You’re talking some (expletive) about me, don’t shake my hand. This guy lost respect from me. Not one fighter respects him.

Sonnen has went on several verbal tirades against Wanderlei, Anderson and many, many other Brazilians. It remains unknown if Sonnen will ever face Wanderlei, but here’s to hoping that match comes to fruition down the road.

well, Anderson may end Sonnen’s ufc career. 4th round KO!

Although a KO could happen, it seems unlikely considering Sonnens past. He’s very tough to KO and it’s hard to get that kind of power from your back.

Anderson is good, but he can be taken down. Marquart, Lutter, Hendo, and Sonnen all took him down. Sonnen will implement the same plan he did last time and Anderson knew his game plan then and could t stop it. I’m curious why people think Anderson has figured out how to stay on his feet. Besides Anderson hasn’t fought in almost a year.

Anderson has been the most Dangerous fighter in MMA for a long time now, but Sonnens style is a bad match up for him.

Plus Sonnen’s on TRT so you know its going to be a tougher fight than normal.

I see Sonnen winning this fight via wrestle f***ing, finally ending the dominate reign of Anderson Silva. Silva then retires.

Wanderlei needs to think about what he saying. Sonnen obviously got under his skin so Wanderlei is just throwing things out there without making sense. Sonnen talks but he backs it up. I’m sure he would take down Wanderlei the same way he did Anderson….

So Sonnen takes Anderson down. So what? That’s his obligation being the very best wrestler in UFC compared to the weakest part of Anderson’s game. All other guys mentioned who took Anderson down lost their fights, including Sonnen himself.
Anderson is hard to hit with precision even on his back and he can, and did, and will open faces from the bottom until decides to submit people.
Sonnen could win? Sure, it’s MMA. But I believe only via one outscoring boring fight.
