UFC’s Return To England Will Be Headlined By Stefan Struve, Stipe Miocic

It appears that the UFC is starting to pencil in main events for the next few months, as ESPN’s United Kingdom site is reporting the UFC on FUEL TV 5 main event is set.

In the headlining bout, heavyweights Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic will square off. The contest will be five rounds on September 29 from Nottingham, England.

Struve has improved his record to 24-5 with a three-fight win streak. He earned a submission victory over Lavar Johnson last month.

Miocic (9-0), meanwhile, has won all three of his bouts since signing with the UFC. This year has seen Miocic topple Shane del Rosario and Phil De Fries via knockout.

I like that match-up, but why is it every time the UFC holds an event in another country every fight has to have at least one fighter from that country? A true fan of the sport will follow a fighter regardless of his native land….

Good point! but i guess its the star power thing, silly, but works for big companies, not for deep fans like us! both of these guys are sick in their talents, and im pumped to see it!! im gonna pick Miocic, Struve has more exp, but Miocic has the staying power!! and we’ve seen Stefan get KO’d quickly when he stands with people, and i cant believe he will completely stray from his stand up!!

This is the only fight on the card so far thats any good if they keep putting these nobodies on the UK events i wont brother shelling out £40 on a ticket and i hope others do the same. Very crap indeed!

I enjoy watching struve fight.he has a lot of heart and comes to fight every time.and miocic is a promising up and coming heavyweight.but for a main event.the UFC is really struggling with all these injuries.great fight still I mean the card is free can’t complain too much.

Its nothing to do with injuries my friend its the fact that there coming to the UK. They lie and say these arenas are always sold out here but the fact is alot of the tickets are given away are sold at knock down prices to mma clubs. They may say the sport is massive in england but its not and there not doing themselves any favours by putting on shitty shows like this one!
