Anthony Johnson Headed To Light Heavyweight Ranks For Titan FC

Former UFC fighter Anthony Johnson seems to finally get it when it comes to his weight.

Titan Fighting Championships owner/CEO Joe Kelly recently told Bloody Elbow Radio that “Rumble’s” next fight for the promotion will come at 205 pounds.

Johnson, of course, has had numerous issues with his weight. He was dismissed from the UFC after missing weight by 11 pounds for his middleweight bout with Vitor Belfort earlier this year.

“(Johnson) has stated that in his next fight, he wants to fight for us at 205, so that’s where the fight will be in July,” Kelly said. “We’ll see.”

Johnson defeated Dave Branch in his debut for Titan FC, though the bout came at a catchweight, much to the surprise of many who were expecting it to me at 185.

Wow and to think if he would’ve made that choice a long time ago he could possibly still be part of the biggest promotion around right now,I guess he’s not getting paid enough to cut those extra 20-30 lbs in the smaller promotions

Despite his size advantage he still got his ass kicked by a few welterweights. Had he moved up in weighclass there’s a possibility he wouldn’t rank top 20

Exactly! This guys going to be the Melvin Guillard of the light heavy weight. As soon he faces a top fighter he’s going to get choked out. I mean, hopefully he does well at light heavy. I always thought it was dumb that he fought in smaller weight classes. Like, imagine Junior Dos Santos fighting in middle weight, lol it’s effing stupid.

well actually he didn’t get his “ass kicked” he kicked peoples asses and yeah he got choked out by kos and belfort but if you watch those fights kos poked him in the eye about mmm 3 times i believe ooo and belfort has underrated jujitsu soo he used that because didn’t wanna stand with rumble plus he couldn’t and knew it soo please how did he ever get his “ass kicked”.

Um, Anthony Johnson got his “ass kicked” no only by welterweights but by a lightweight (155) fighting at welterweight. Rich Clementi defeated Anthony Johnson by (what else) Rear Naked Choke at UFC 76.
