UFC Injury Watch 2012: Big Nog Out, Shawn Jordan In For UFC 149 Bout With Cheick Kongo

Don’t call it a comeback, because the injury bug has been here for years.

Despite being pencilled in to face French striker Cheick Kongo at next month’s UFC 149, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has been forced to withdraw from the event. His withdrawal was prompted by his right arm, which was broken by recent title challenger Frank Mir, not being fully healed.

Originally reported by Sherdog.com, Jackson/Winkeljohn fighter Shawn Jordan, who successfully made the jump from Strikeforce back in March, has stepped up on short notice. Jordan now faces his toughest challenge to date, as he faces Kongo on the pay-per-view portion of the Calgary card.

I don’t mean to complain but what the fuck is going on.injury after injury I really look forward to all these fights.the UFC does a great job replacing injured fighters and still making exciting fights.but it’s happening so much right now that the UFC might have its worst year ever for injuries, ppv sales, and low ratings.
