‘I Could Beat (Jon Jones) In My Prime,’ Says Tito Ortiz

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz knows what it feels like to be called one of the best fighters out there.

Back during his title runs, Ortiz was considered to be an all-time great.

Now, the man wearing the 205-pound title, Jon Jones, is regarded as one of the elite pound-for-pound fighters in all of MMA right now.

But, Ortiz believes that a prime Ortiz could dethrone “Bones,” as he told ESPN in a recent interview.

Jon Jones is a great champion, but me in my prime, I was devastating. I was vicious. Nobody could stop me. Of course I could beat him in my prime.

Ortiz, who will face Forrest Griffin this Saturday night in the co-main event for UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2, will be making his final appearance this weekend. Ortiz is set to be inducted into the UFC’s Hall of Fame, as well.

    Completely irrevelant.

Dude that is totally relevant! I’d also like to say I would have beat Jon Jones and “In his Prime Tito Ortiz” if I had started training MMA 20 years earlier than I did!

      • LeoLarios

How is that relevant? There’s no way of knowing for sure, not unless he ran a computer simulated fight between the two, and even then I’d give it to Jon.

I thought the sarcasm was kinda obvious with my last sentence. Tito can’t stop bragging about his “primed self”, easy to say when you know you won’t have to prove anything

Ah haha I see now, we get a bunch of dummies on here from time to time. Never seen you post here before, welcome.
