Forrest Griffin is one of the more interesting characters in all of MMA.
Griffin, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, didn’t really make many friends by defeating Tito Ortiz this past weekend at UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II.
He upset UFC president Dana White, his opponent, and of course, those cheering for Ortiz to go out in his retirement bout a winner.
Before the announcement was made that Griffin had claimed a decision, Griffin left the Octagon and started back towards the locker room area. White had to chase him down and bring him back to hear the verdict.
But, the issues didn’t end there, as Griffin also took the microphone from Joe Rogan and decided to perform the post-fight interview with Ortiz.
I sincerely apologize. I can see you guys have got a ton of history and I apologize. I wish I could take that back. I’m sorry.
Ortiz was especially frustrated by the decision to take the interview away from Rogan, someone who he said helped build him into the star he became over 15 years in the UFC.
