Former Ultimate Fighter runner-up Vinny Magalhaes made news when he helped prepare Chael Sonnen for his bout with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
Now, it appears Magalhaes is on his way back to the UFC, according to a report by Tatame. The Brazilian news outlet cited reports that Magalhaes has resigned, and will fight this September.
Magalhaes was defeated by Ryan Bader in the finals of TUF, and was released by the UFC after going 0-2. Since that time, however, Magalhaes has won seven of eight fights, including the M-1 Global light heavyweight title.
While holding the M-1 championship, Magalhaes’ contract expired. He cited issues with the management of M-1 as his reason for not remaining in the company.
