Knockout Of Hector Lombard Places Tim Boetsch Where He Wants To Be

Tim Boetsch has the opportunity of his career Saturday night.

Boetsch will take on Hector Lombard in the co-main event of UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao.

With a win, Boetsch will have won his last four UFC fights, and taken out a man many consider to be one of the best middleweights in the world.

“Knocking out Hector Lombard proves I’m next in line for a middleweight title shot,” said Boetsch, during a recent interview with MMA Fighting. “I don’t mind flying under the radar. I like coming into these fights as the underdog. I know Hector’s the favorite, and that’s fine by me.”

Lombard (31-2-1) exited Bellator as the middleweight champion, and has not lost since 2006. Boetsch (15-4) recently downed former UFC title contender Yushin Okami.
