No 1.3 Million PPV Buys For UFC 148, Says Dana White

UFC president Dana White pushed and pushed and pushed UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II as the biggest event in UFC history.

While the card lived up to the billing on several fronts, it did not reach the 1.3 million pay-per-view buys that White was hoping for.

“I truly believed we would do a 1.3 million,” said White, during a recent interview session with members of the media following UFC 149′s pre-fight press conference. “It’s the first time I was disappointed with an awesome number. The number didn’t suck.”

The card featured Anderson Silva successfully defending his UFC middleweight title against Chael Sonnen.

No official number has been released in terms of PPV buys.
