Chris Weidman Tells Vitor Belfort ‘Now Is My Time’

Chris Weidman feels like he deserves the next shot at taking down UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Chael Sonnen has failed to do so twice, while the likes of Yushin Okami and Vitor Belfort have also been turned away by “The Spider.”

Weidman, who is undefeated and coming off a recent knockout victory over Mark Munoz, informed Belfort that “The All-American” is next.

Belfort has been pushing for another crack at Silva, but was defeated earlier this year with a front-kick that knocked him out.

It seems as though the UFC is pairing middleweight contenders off, as Michael Bisping and Brian Stann are set to meet later this year. Rumors of an Alan Belcher-Belfort match have been circulating, which leaves Weidman without an opponent.
