Renan Barao Receives Warm Welcome In Return To Brazil

Interim UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao was surprised by the likes of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo when he returned to Brazil.

Barao, who is a frequent training partner of Aldo’s, defeated Urijah Faber for the interim title recently.

“The feeling is the best possible,” said Barao, in an interview with the Brazilian news outlet Tatame. “I made a dream come true for my team and Brazil.”

Barao could be looking at a future match up with UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. Currently, Cruz is rehabbing from knee surgery. Barao said it is his goal to face Cruz, but added, “I’m a UFC fighter and I’ll fight whoever they tell me to.”
