Former UFC competitor Anthony Johnson is planning on staying busy in the next couple of months.
Johnson will face Esteves Jones in August at Titan Fighting Championship 24 in his first bout at light heavyweight. He has had trouble making welterweight, and finally decided to bump up to 205 pounds.
Now, “Rumble” has signed to meet Jake Rosholt in September at Xtreme Fight Night 8 in Oklahoma.
Johnson (11-4) defeated Dave Branch earlier this year in his first fight since being cut by the UFC. Rosholt (12-4) has went 5-1 with one no-contest in his last seven, but was defeated in his last fight.
“Lotta people catching wind of this big fight coming up outside the UFC,” Rosholt posted on Twitter. “Gonna be a damn good one and I’m super excited.”
Rosholt, who was a standout at Oklahoma State University, posted a 1-2 record in the UFC. He defeated Chris Leben, and was topped by Dan Miller and Kendall Grove.
