Luke Rockhold Down For Cross-Over Bout With Tim Boetsch

Luke Rockhold wants a name opponent that will help raise his stock.

Rockhold, fresh off a defense of his Strikeforce middleweight title over Tim Kennedy, feels like Tim Boetsch would make for a perfect candidate.

Boetsch defeated Hector Lombard earlier this month. Lombard entered the UFC after relinquishing his Bellator middleweight title.

“Tim Boetsch looked pretty good (recently),” said Rockhold, in an interview with MMA Weekly. “He just beat the Bellator champion, let’s see if he can come beat the Strikeforce champion.”

While issues remain in regards to bringing certain Strikeforce fighters to the UFC, it seems that there are no regulations for UFC fighters heading to Strikeforce. Frank Mir will enter the Strikeforce cage later this year and face Daniel Cormier.

Got to give luke credit. He wants to fight top 10 guys, obviously there isn’t anyone in strike force that would shoot him higher up in the ranking system. If Cormier is getting action against UFC fighters, then let Luke and Gilbert get some too..
