Well, Eddie Alvarez wanted a rematch for the Bellator lightweight championship.
Instead, Alvarez will receive Patricky “Pitbull” Freire in what could be his final appearance inside the Bellator cage.
Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney confirmed on Twitter Monday that Alvarez and Freire will face off on October 12 from Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Alvarez will have his contract expire after the fight. He dropped the Bellator title to Michael Chandler last year.
Bellator will have a three-month period to match any offer Alvarez is given. After that, he becomes a free agent and can sign with any promotion he wants.
