Glover Teixeira Wants ‘Pride Rampage’ When He Meets Quinton Jackson At UFC 153

Glover Teixeira knows that he will receive quite possibly the biggest challenge of his career when he meets former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Teixeira and Jackson will take place in October at UFC 153 from Brazil.

For Teixeira, he is hoping that the best Jackson ever shows up in Rio de Janeiro.

“I’m waiting for an 100-percent prepared ‘Rampage,’” said Teixeira, in a recent interview with Tatame. “I’m training to fight old times Pride ‘Rampage.’ I’m preparing for the fighter he was when he got into the UFC.”

Jackson has fallen on hard times as of late. After being submitted by Jon Jones in a bout for the UFC light heavyweight title, Jackson was topped by Ryan Bader.

Teixeira, meanwhile, earned his first UFC victory by stopping Kyle Kingsbury earlier this year. He is 18-2 in his career, including 11 knockout victories.

if I was him I’d rather face the Rampage of recent. Who wants to get slammed or recipient of that fierce left hook ? I always hope to see the real rampage show up but after being dissapointed so many times, its obvious his mind is elsewhere and dispite what he says or guarantees in hyping his fights, we are forced to watch a old less motivated version of himself. He will say he was injured and didnt want to pull out and I respect him for that and wish him the best. He does seem to be aware of the fact he hasnt been the best he could be & age might be his biggest opponent now. I was so pumped for his last fight againt Bader but he was “injured” so he couldnt deliver on his promises and Dana is sick of it. Either put all your effort into this or find ano’ job.
