Medical Suspensions For Eight Fighters From Strikeforce: Rousey Vs. Kaufman Event

The California Athletic Commission handed down medical suspensions for eight fighters from Saturday’s Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman event. The suspensions were first reported by Sherdog.com.

Julie Kedzie and Ovince St. Preux were each handed the longest suspensions, as both fighters were dealt 180 days. Kedzie’s is for a possible rotator cuff injury, while OSP’s is for a left thumb injury.

T.J. Cook was handed a 45-day suspension for his knockout loss, but was also given an indefinite suspension for a possible neck fracture.

STRIKEFORCE: ROUSEY VS. KAUFMAN MEDICAL SUSPENSIONS

Derek Brunson – Suspended 45 days (no contact for 30 days) for knockout

Lumumba Sayers – Suspended 60 days (no contact for 60 days) for cuts on right eye and left scalp

T.J. Cook – Suspended 45 days (no contact for 30 days) for knockout and indefinitely or until cleared by doctor for possible neck fracture

Ovince St. Preux – Suspended 180 days (no contact for 180 days) for painful left thumb injury

Julie Kedzie – Suspended 180 days (no contact for 180 days) or until cleared by doctor for possible left shoulder rotator cuff injury.

Miesha Tate – Suspended 45 days (no contact for 30 days) for hard bout.

Keith Berry – Suspended 45 days (no contact for 30 days) for TKO and indefinitely or until cleared by doctor for hyper extension to left knee.

    isnt it strange that OSP is suspended longer than the guy he Knocked Out ? (TJ COOK) and not only KO’d but damn he was beating up for the majority of the bout. I hate to see when guys get ko’d and then fall down on the back of their heads or face first ala tyson griffin. The worst is what almost happened to Jared Rosholt- when he fell back and almost landed neck first against the cage. If it was a normal non trained person you’d thank they would break their neck or sprain it or even worst do damage to the spine.

      Yeah, I finally saw replays of Rosholt’s KO and it was nasty……good thing that cage had a little give to it. Lewis looked like a beast in there, by the way.
