Jon Jones Accepts Blame For UFC 151 Being Pulled

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones said in his first interview after the news of UFC 151 being canceled that it wasn’t his decision. Now, via Twitter, Jones is actually taking some of the responsibility for what went down.

“Carrying the cross for my company’s decision. If someone has to take the blame, I will accept full responsibility for the way UFC 151 was canceled,” Jones wrote. “I want to sincerely apologize to all the other athletes/fans who’s time and money was waisted. I feel terrible about the way that was handled.”

Jones was set to face Dan Henderson in the main event, but Henderson had to pull out due to a knee injury. After Lyoto Machida turned down the fight, Chael Sonnen accepted it. However, Jones declined the Sonnen bout.

Now, “Bones” will meet Vitor Belfort in the main event of UFC 152.

    I know im gonna get some grief for this but take a second and think about it Sonnen wanted to fight for a title, silva wanted to fight any1 but jones! SONNEN VS SILVA III (I know silva said at lhw, so make it at lhw, no title on the line) your all gonna say “not interested about seen that again” But the real truth is it probably wud have pulled bigger numbers then the original card! I dont think he deserves the shot and amnt interested in seen it again but i wud be lying if i said i wouldn’t tune into watch it!!!

      Don’t hate Jones because he’s claims he’s a Christian. Hate him because he poses as a Christian. The dude is married and got caught drinking and driving with two girls in his car. Carrying the cross is just an expression has no relevance to his so called beliefs.
