UFC fighter Wanderlei Silva confirmed that he lost his father, Holando Pinheiro da Silva, in a car accident on Sunday.
News of the accident first started circulating around Twitter. “The Axe Murderer” made several posts in mentioning all the strong words sent in my MMA fans.

Silva added to “please pray for our family pretty difficult time more glad that we have the support of God. I thank all very (message) and all the prayers you guys do not know how much help.”
Silva lost to Rich Franklin last month, and has talked about his next fight in recent days. Nothing has been made official by the UFC or Silva, and it remains unknown how this family tragedy will affect that.
