Anderson Silva Seems Focused On Fight With Georges St-Pierre

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva feels like there is one fight out there that interests him: UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

Some would argue that if GSP were to fall to Carlos Condit in November at UFC 154, the appeal of a Silva-GSP fight wouldn’t still be there.

Well, Silva doesn’t feel that way at all. “The Spider” told SporTV recently that he wants St-Pierre, win or lose vs. Condit.

Regardless of who wins, even if St-Pierre loses, a fight with me can happen. A fight like this is above anything else. St-Pierre is one of the greatest of the UFC. Right now, a fight with Condit is meaningless.

It appears that Silva will remain inactive for the remainder of 2012. If St-Pierre does take care of Condit, you can count on the talk surrounding Silva-GSP to ignite like a firework on the Fourth of July.

I think it’s the biggest fight the UFC could currently put on, period. I also think GSP has little chance against Silva at 185. In reality, even if GSP loses to Condit, I think the fight with Silva at 185 makes just as much sense.

UFC would be saved if they could put on Silva Vs. Gsp as a fight. It would get our minds off the stupid bullshit that has been hurting the events.

its funny how Silva wants a 170lb fighter to move up.. very smart.. alot of people think Jones is a better match up.. its a more even fight.. body frames dont match up.. Silva would get his ass kicked by Jones and he knows it…..

I’d like to say no to this fight just for Hendricks vs Kampmann winner & Bisping vs Stann or weidman vs belcher winner. However if Jones vs Anderson wont happen than YES who wouldnt want to watch that ? I understand Anderson’s need for important challengers at his late stage in career but wish he would fight more frequent- he has 4 good contenders currently and add Munoz or Lombard in w/ possible fight vs Rashad
