A battle of former UFC heavyweight champions will take place at ONE FC 5: Pride of a Nation Friday morning, as Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski square off in the Philippines.
The card, which can be purchased for streaming at the ONE FC website, will feature the fourth meeting between Sylvia and Arlovski.
Sylvia (31-7) holds a 2-1 mark all-time vs. Arlovski, and is hoping that with a third victory, he will silence Arlovski forever.
“I want to kick his teeth down his throat and shut him up once and for all,” said Sylvia, in a recent interview with Tatame. “I already beat the crap out of him a couple of times, knocked him out, took his belt away and then sent him to the minor leagues. I want to make an example out of him and beat him into retirement.”
Sylvia is on a three-fight win streak since a loss to Abe Wagner. He was the rumored opponent for Daniel Cormier recently until Strikeforce and Zuffa signed Frank Mir to meet Cormier.
His plans are to win all three of his ONE FC fights, starting with Arlovski, and then start looking at what is available.
“I’d like to fight for the ONE FC belt and I am ready to do that,” Sylvia said. “I don’t choose my opponents, that’s up to ONE FC, but I’m ready to fight anyone.”
