Ed Soares, manager to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, believes a super-fight with UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
Soares, however, still has the condition that GSP needs to defeat Carlos Condit when they meet later this year at UFC 154.
“I think it makes the most sense,” said Soares, during an interview with MMA Weekly Radio. “First of all, Georges St-Pierre has to get through Carlos Condit. (If GSP defeats Condit), that’s a fight (with Silva) that makes sense for both guys.”
Recently, Silva said that he doesn’t feel as though St-Pierre needs to defeat Condit because it is a “meaningless” fight. It appears that Soares wants that mystique of champion vs. champion to sell the fight.
“A super-fight like that I think is going to be the biggest fight,” Soares said. “I think a lot of fans want to watch it and I think it will be a highlight for both of their careers.”
