Carlos Condit Plans To Play Role Of Super-Fight Spoiler Again When He Faces GSP

Carlos Condit is the interim UFC welterweight champion.

After Georges St-Pierre, the reigning UFC welterweight champion, went down with an injury, the UFC created an interim title bout and placed Condit against Nick Diaz.

The obvious goal was to eventually end up with GSP vs. Diaz.

However, Condit scored a decision victory, the interim title and a meeting with St-Pierre in November at UFC 154.

Now, as talk of a potential super-fight between GSP and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva continues to heat up, Condit’s manager is making it known that “The Natural Born Killer” would like nothing more than to spoil the party for a second time.

“(Condit) doesn’t care about none of this stuff; he just sits there and says, ‘Hey, I spoiled their plans once with Nick, I’ll spoil it again with Georges,’” said Malki Kawa, in a recent interview with MMA Weekly.

Roberts also added that people need to stop looking over Condit in his match up with St-Pierre and focusing in on a GSP-Silva fight.

St-Pierre is returning to the Octagon for the first time in over a year. He suffered a minor injury that knocked him out of a fight in 2011 and suffered a more serious issue earlier this year that forced him to undergo surgery.

I can tell you one guy who isnt overlooking Condit. GSP. He has not overlooked anyone hes fought for years. Even guys that everybody else counted out against him, he has somehow found arguments that these guys were a huge threat to him.
That being said I think Condit is actually the most worthy contender he has fought for a long time. Not only does he have a full set of skills in all aspects of the game, he has also proved himself capable of making an upset on several occasions.
Betting against GSP is never a good idea. But unlike the last few contenders he has faced, Condit actually has a punchers chance. I cant wait for this fight!
