Chael Sonnen has decided to try his hand at competing with the light heavyweights in the UFC, and it appears that one-time foe Michael Bisping could do the same.
Bisping, who is currently scheduled to face Brian Stann at UFC 152, told MMA Weekly recently that a return to 205 pounds could interest him going forward.
I do think about it. I was 15-1 at 205 pounds, but 185 pounds is where I should be right now.
Bisping captured the title of Ultimate Fighter, earning three consecutive UFC light heavyweight victories before a loss in 2007. He decided to move down to 185 after that defeat, and has crept close to a pair of title shots since.
While nothing has been confirmed, it is rumored that with a win over Stann, Bisping could position himself for a bout with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, or at least place himself in a No. 1 contender match.
Bisping (22-4) is 8-3 at 185 pounds inside the Octagon, while Stann sports a 12-4 overall mark.
