UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones took defense to some questions asked of him during a recent conference call for UFC 152.
Jones, who has taken the brunt of the punishment for the cancellation of UFC 151, said he is still just 25 years old and is learning.
“I’m just me,” Jones said. “I’ll be the first to admit I’m not perfect, (but) I’m just me.”
Jones, who will face Vitor Belfort on the September 22 card, talked about how fans called him phony and wanted him to open up, but then said he should hire a public relations adviser to help him out.
“I’m just 25 years old,” Jones said. “I’m going to make mistakes. People are going to do what’s right for themselves. I did what’s right for my family and my brand.”
Jones is expected to meet with UFC president Dana White upon heading to Toronto for the show. White said the two will meet for the first time since the UFC 151 incident.
