Jose Aldo Did Everything He Could To Remain In For UFC 153 Fight With Frankie Edgar

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo was forced to remove himself from a second planned title defense this year on Tuesday.

Aldo, who delayed a scheduled meeting with Erik Koch due to a minor injury, cancelled a fight vs. Frankie Edgar set for October after he was involved in a car-motorcycle accident.

No timetable for Aldo’s return has been mentioned, and no replacement fight or fighter has been secured by the UFC for either the card or Edgar.

Aldo, via Twitter, wrote “My fans come to apologize to everyone for the fight, I gave a lot but did not, tried until the last’m very sad!!”
