A possible UFC light heavyweight No. 1 contender match could take place later this year, as reports are circulating that Dan Henderson will face Lyoto Machida.
UFC president Dana White eluded to the possible match during a luncheon in Las Vegas on Friday. MMAFighting.com first reported the bout.
Machida was asked to replace Henderson and face Jon Jones for the title, but “The Dragon” turned down the bout.
Henderson, meanwhile, suffered a minor knee injury just weeks before stepping into the Octagon and taking on Jones. He has targeted a return to action later this year.
