Vitor Belfort Not Slowing Down Despite Growing Older

Vitor Belfort believes his experience will be a key factor when he steps inside the Octagon to face UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones Saturday night at UFC 152.

Belfort is the obvious underdog in the fight, but the former UFC champion has prepared himself to shock the world.

I am so ready in my mind. I am so ready to be the champion again. My brain, my body; they are so ready. That’s how I live my life – with belief. I am ready to win. As you get older, you learn about yourself. I have the same abilities as I had when I was younger, but now I have more sense to myself.

Belfort has not competed at 205 pounds for several years, but he did receive a shot at UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva last year.

While he didn’t want to indulge in his plan during open workouts on Wednesday, Belfort did say, “Against Jon Jones, people ask, ‘How can you beat this guy’ and I say, ‘I will show you how on Saturday.’”
