UFC president Dana White made it perfectly clear on Fuel TV Friday: UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones needs to grow up.
White, who missed the pre-fight press conference for UFC 152 due to another bout in his battle with Meniere’s disease, issued a stern warning to Jones.
During the same press conference White missed, Jones claimed he had no idea that by not accepting a fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 151, the entire card would be cancelled.
The fact that he says he didn’t know the show would get canceled is false. There was a lot of collateral damage, and we will see how this goes. He needs to take this a little more serious than he has. I don’t know if he’s embarrassed, but he needs to take this thing a little more serious than he has.
According to several reports, White and Jones met after weigh-ins Friday. The meeting went well, and it appears that the two sides are prepared to work together going forward.
