Pat Healy just wanted to fight, and compete for a world title.
Instead, Healy will do neither, as Strikeforce announced that they have cancelled Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy.
Gilbert Melendez, the Strikeforce lightweight champion, suffered an injury in training and could not make the fight. Showtime decided against televising the card, and Strikeforce cancelled the entire event.
This is the second cancelled event in the month by Zuffa, which owns both the UFC and Strikeforce.
Melendez is a class act, hit me up and apologized last night. Everyone’s upset but that’s not where the blame should go.
