Stipe Miocic enlisted the help of former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia to prepare himself for Stefan Struve.
Standing 6-foot-11, Struve’s height has caused issues for all sorts of fighters. The two heavyweights will collide this Saturday in the main event of UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic.
“Finding guys who are 6-foot-11 to spar with is hard, but I did train with Tim Sylvia and I know I can get past Struve’s reach and land my punches,” Miocic said. “I expect a tough fight – there’s a lot on the line for both of us.”
Miocic (9-0) has won all three of his UFC bouts, including two by stoppage. This fight with Struve, however, will be the first UFC main event for Miocic.
This is a big fight for me. Struve is a very big guy with a long reach and great (Brazilian jiu-jitsu). I’ve prepared very hard. I’ve trained very hard to make sure I win this fight.
