Stephan Bonnar On Verge Of Going Postal Before UFC 153 Bout

Stephan Bonnar has been forced into playing several roles during his career.

However, as he puts the finishing touches on his training for the biggest fight of his life, Bonnar has been wearing all those hats at once.

Bonnar will meet Anderson Silva in the main event of UFC 153 on October 13 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “The American Psycho” informed members of the media during a conference call Thursday that his nickname is a perfect fit.

I am juggling training and baby stuff pretty good. I usually train for a fight for three months, but am crunching that into three weeks. I am doing an ungodly amount of media stuff, and (Wednesday) night I was on the verge of going postal.

Bonnar (14-7) has won each of his last three fights, but the level of competition doesn’t compare to Silva, the reigning UFC middleweight champion and near-consensus No. 1 fighter in the world.

While some would have said no to fighting Silva on short notice, in his native country no less, Bonnar jumped at the opportunity, saying “the chance to fight the greatest fighter in the world in a place like Brazil is just crazy. I feel like I’m in a movie.”
