Report: Luke Rockhold Out Of Strikeforce: Cormier Vs. Mir Fight With Lorenz Larkin

According to The MMA Corner, Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will not make his next scheduled title defense.

Rockhold signed to face Lorenz Larkin on November 3 at Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir from Oklahoma City. However, the report states that Rockhold suffered a wrist injury in training and will not be able to compete.

Rockhold (10-1) has defeated both Keith Jardine and Tim Kennedy since claiming the title from Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza last year. He was rumored to be set to face Souza again, but Strikeforce went with Larkin for the bout.

Nothing official has been confirmed by Rockhold, his team or Strikeforce. The card already lost its scheduled main event – Daniel Cormier vs. Frank Mir – and has yet to announce a replacement for Mir.

You almost have to wonder if Dana had a behind closed door chat with certain SF fighters and said ” I can’t bring you over because you links with showtime, however if showtime lost some events and cards fell apart then maybe they would want out of the MMA business”

SF always ran very smoothly and didn’t have any problems, since the Zuffa take over it seems to have crumbled and staggered for no good reason…..odd
