Stephan Bonnar landed lefts and rights to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva this past weekend at UFC 153.
However, none of it seemed to faze Silva, as “The Spider” wiped his forehead and attacked Bonnar. Silva ended the fight with a devastating knee that folded “The American Psycho” up and finished him with a few more strikes on the ground.
“Thanks everyone for the support, I’m so sorry I lost,” Bonnar wrote on Twitter while on his way back to the U.S. for the birth of his first child. “I feel so bad for letting my fans down, but I promise to make it up to you.”
Bonnar added that he was not injured, but the knee landed by Silva, “paralyzed me,” and that he only re-gained movement “when the fight was stopped.”
The former runner-up on The Ultimate Fighter came out of a self-imposed “semi-retirement” to meet Silva in hopes of adding one more achievement to his career.
