Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar were expected to meet this past weekend for Aldo’s UFC featherweight title.
Unfortunately, an auto accident knocked Aldo out of the planned main event.
While he continues to heal and rehab, Aldo hopes the UFC signs Edgar to face him as soon as possible. “The Answer” decided to drop down to featherweight after wearing UFC lightweight gold.
“I would really like to fight Frankie Edgar,” said Aldo, while appearing on UFC Tonight recently. “I think all the fans really want to see this fight, too.”
Aldo (21-1) is 3-0 since joining the UFC, including a first round knockout of Chad Mendes. He also has sworn off motorcycles after the accident knocked him out of action, saying, “Never again,” will he ride one.
