Shane Carwin Hoping To Be Fully-Healthy By TUF Final 16 Time Vs. Roy Nelson

Shane Carwin is undergoing constant therapy in his injured knee ahead of a planned encounter with Roy Nelson in December.

Carwin and Nelson, the coaches on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter, will meet in the main event of the finale in Las Vegas.

However, a couple weeks ago, a brief scare was put into the match up, as Carwin suffered a training injury. The former interim UFC heavyweight champion has been rehabbing at Denver’s Steadman Hawkins Clinic.

“The rehab people are confident, and my strength and conditioning coach is confident (that I’ll be ready to fight),” said Carwin, during a recent appearance on MMAjunkie.com Radio. “It’s just limited on some of the things I can train right now. Hopefully, by the time the fight comes, the adrenaline picks up and you don’t feel anything anyway.”

Carwin (12-2) will be looking to snap a two-fight losing skid. Prior to undergoing knee surgery, Carwin lost to Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos.
