A previously planned UFC featherweight champion match between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar appears to have a new date.
Aldo and Edgar were expected to battle for the title earlier this month. “Scarface,” however, was knocked from the contest after issues from an auto-motorcycle accident.
Now, according to a Brazilian news source, the plan is for Aldo-Edgar to go down in January from Brazil. The likely card would be UFC 156.
Aldo last competed in January, defeating Chad Mendes in Brazil via first round knockout. Edgar decided to move to featherweight after an unsuccessful attempt to win back his lightweight crown from Benson Henderson.
