Lyman Good and Andrey Koreshkov earned TKO victories Friday night at Bellator 78, positioning themselves for a future bout in the finals of the season seven welterweight tournament.
Good stopped Michail Tsarev in the second round, while Koreshkov downed Marius Zaromskis in the first. The two will meet for a title shot and $100,000 at a date to be determined.
Also, Zoila Gurgel returned from a lengthy absence to earn a victory over Casey Noland on the prelims. Gurgel, a Bellator women’s champion, was in the news recently after Miesha Tate made it known how upset she was by Gurgel’s placement on the non-televised portion of the card.
Gurgel posted on Twitter following her win that, “They were right guys (referencing Bellator). That fight wasn’t Main Card worthy. Talked 2 (Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney) personally & covered all (loose) ends to start new.”
