UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently took part in a fan chat along with UFC president Dana White and Chael Sonnen.
Jones and Sonnen are currently filming the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, and the two will square off in April.
However, “Bones” was asked about several other 205-pound challengers, including rising prospect Alexander Gustafsson.
Gustafsson is set to face former champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in December at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Diaz. A win over Rua would likely vault the Swede high up the pecking order – something Jones is keeping an eye on.
I can’t wait to fight him. A lot of people say the reason why I win is because I have long arms. When I fight Gustafsson, that will be behind me. I can’t wait to prove all the critics wrong.
Jones stands 6-foot-4 and sports an incredible 84.5-inch reach. Gustafsson is 6-5 with a 76.5-inch reach. So, Jones would still hold the same kind of advantage in that category as he has held over the likes of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans.
