Stephan Bonnar has retired from active fighting, but that didn’t stop the UFC from handing “The American Psycho” a one-year suspension for a second failed post-fight drug test.
UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Marc Ratner, confirmed the suspension with MMAjunkie.com.
Bonnar tested positive for an anabolic steroid following his recent loss to Anderson Silva in Brazil at UFC 153. Shortly after, Bonnar announced his retirement from fighting.
Also, Dave Herman, who failed his post-fight drug test for marijuana, was earmarked for a lesser suspension and given a drug treatment program.
Ratner added that the UFC is working on putting together random testing and new policies, with the procedure likely to be put in place before 2012 ends.
