Carlos Condit was asked during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight if the surgically-repaired knee of Georges St-Pierre was fair game when the two welterweights meet for the unified title tonight at UFC 154.
Yeah man, I think so. If someone’s in the cage, you can’t say, ‘Hey man, that is off limits.’ There are no time outs, there are no substitutions.
St-Pierre was forced out of a previously planned fight with Condit last year, and had to eventually undergo surgery to repair his knee. This will be his first fight since early in 2011 when he defeated Jake Shields.
As for any extra training sessions with the use of his kicks, Condit said, “No. I wouldn’t say that I’ve been leg kicking any more or less than before.”
Condit used his kicks to keep Nick Diaz at bay and secure the interim title. We’ll see in just a few short hours if he uses that same style to upset GSP.
