Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz met earlier this year in a five-round battle for the interim UFC welterweight title.
When all was said and done, Condit was the one with the belt around his waist.
Now, Condit will face Georges St-Pierre this evening for the unified welterweight crown at UFC 154.
During a recent press conference, GSP was asked how he scored the Condit-Diaz bout.
Seeing it live, I give (Condit) the win for that fight. I believe he did very well. He hit Nick much more than Nick hit him and I believe he should have won. I loved that fight; I thought it was one of the greatest fight of the night.
Now, the two 170-pounders will face each other. Despite both having trained under the watchful eye of Greg Jackson, St-Pierre said he and Condit never crossed paths in New Mexico.
“I didn’t go there very often,” GSP said. “I went there one time he was there. I went to help Rashad Evans, so my main point was not training for myself, was training for Rashad.”
