Jake Ellenberger Asks For Match With Johny Hendricks

Jake Ellenberger was likely just seconds away from finishing Martin Kampmann earlier this year and facing Johny Hendricks.

Instead, Kampmann survived the first round, and stopped Ellenberger in the second, snapping his six-fight win streak in the process.

Hendricks and Kampmann competed Saturday night in the co-main event of UFC 154, with “Bigg Rigg” dropping Kampmann in the first round and earning a devastating knockout victory.

Now, Ellenberger is asking for a shot at Hendricks, and is even willing to take a huge gamble.

Ellenberger returned to action last month, defeating Jay Hieron to improve to 25-6 overall.

wow I would put my money on the line … for Johny Hendricks !!! haha . kidding im kidding cuz that would be a great fight and a dangerous & career wise risky fight for Hendricks to take after he prettty much secured the # 1 contender spot. But Rory McDonald has a big one coming up vs BJ , Ellenberger was close to title hopes, Nick Diaz is coming back in a few months, Jon Fitch stopped the Erick Silva hype for a lil bit and faces Demian Maia who looks great at 170, and a Condit vs Kampmann fight could produce another top 5-10 Welterweight , Koscheck could come back to the mix and I’d like him to fight Siyar Bahada-yadayada, then strikeforce folds and in comes Nate Marquardt, Tyron Woodley and maybe Jordan Mein or Jorge Santiago ..??

Holy shit, GSP actually laid down some ground and pound! Finally. After like 5 years of laying on guys with no offense. If he starts beating guys up again then I might start liking him again. Perhaps a layoff is what he needed to stop being so boring.

Hendricks is clearly the obvious top contender. I mean, Ellenberger can talk all he wants. But Hendricks destroyed the guy who just knocked Ellenberger out. In 30 seconds. Ellenberger is just your typical jarhead douche. Good for swinging hard and knocking out chumps, but he’ll never be championship material.

Ellenberger is no joke. He lost to Kampmann, but although Kampmann is known for his comebacks, I wont be surprised if they were to ever fight again and Ellenberger knocks him out. He’s pretty darn good, too bad he lost to Kampmann, he had a better chance to beat Hendricks.
