Jose Aldo Cleared To Train, Committed To Facing Frankie Edgar At UFC 156

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has been told he is ready to return to training following complications from an auto accident.

Aldo will face Frankie Edgar at UFC 156 in February for the belt. The two were originally set to tangle this past October, but Aldo was involved in a car vs. motorcycle accident and unable to make the date.

“I’ve been training at full-force for a while now after my trainers and doctors cleared me,” said Aldo, in a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com. “I got back to training right away. I’m great. Thank God, everything is completely healed.”

Aldo (21-1-) will have gone over a year without fighting due to injuries. He was forced out of a planned encounter with Erik Koch this past summer, then cancelled the Edgar meeting. “Scarface” last fought in Janury, knocking out Chad Mendes.
