Sara McMann likely was just as excited as every other female fighter when word came down that the UFC had signed Ronda Rousey.
The decision to begin the first female division in the promotion with Rousey leaves McMann, another 135-pounder, likely to receive a call in the near future.
After fielding several responses about a potential signing, McMann decided to take to Twitter to clear up talk.
Everyone keeps asking me if I am in the @ufc… All I know is that it is “in the works”. Thank you for your support

McMann signed a contract with Strikeforce earlier this year, as she was set to face Liz Carmouche at a cancelled card. The Olympic silver medalist in wrestling is 6-0 and viewed as a potential challenger to Rousey’s reign atop the division.
