Martin Kampmann was unable to secure himself a potential UFC welterweight title recently, as Johny Hendricks caught him with a nasty left at UFC 154.
The loss snapped a three-fight win streak for Kampmann (20-6), who had defeated both Jake Ellenberger and Thiago Alves earlier this year.
“Losing sure sucks, but congrats to (Hendricks),” Kampmann posted on Twitter. “That was a good punch. Thanks to everybody for the love and support.”
Kampmann has suffered just one losing streak in his career, dropping back-to-back fights to Jake Shields and Diego Sanchez in 2010 and ’11. He could be set for a possible rematch with Carlos Condit, who was topped the same night vs. Georges St-Pierre.
